Last year, the Calgary Round-Up Band performed for over 2 million people including a year-end excursion to Disneyland to show the World that they've got the right stuff to hold their head up proud and march with confidence. That same Association has produced the Best Junior Band at the Calgary Stampede for six out of the past eight years.
Getting there is no easy task, though. Nearly two dozen instructional staff members lead students to rehearse over 240 hours in ten months to prepare them to march in enough parades and performances to walk to Red Deer and back. All this while the students remain upstanding members of their regular school performance group and academic circle.
Members graduate from the Calgary Round-Up Band with an inner drive for excellence and a strong sense of self-discipline that helps carry them toward their future challenges as well-prepared and motivated young adults. But they can't do it without you!
Enabling the Calgary Round-Up Band to continue developing these young adults takes passion, patience, ingenuity, volunteers, and, yes, donations. From capital expenditures to replace uniforms or equipment to ongoing operational expenses to transport equipment to rented rehearsal locations, running the Calgary Round-Up Band takes several hundred thousand dollars annually.
While some of this is offset by membership dues and fundraising, we also rely on the charitable donations of organizations such as yours for our ongoing success.
